A Good Case For Extinction

17 September 1598 – Sailors from the Netherlands discover Mauritius. Some people might recollect that Mauritius was once home to the dodo – an aptly-named bird that became extinct because, in its primitive ignorance, it could not adapt to the ever-changing circumstances of a fluid world.

Hopefully, other know-nothing dodos will soon disappear, including, of course, the Tea Party, with its rigid ideologies, its Bronze Age worldview, and its penchant for championing intellectually obtuse candidates.
