Political Science

“A cult is a religion with no political power.” – Tom Wolfe, American writer, born 2 March 1931.

And when a cult acquires political power, it usually votes Republican.

“Men in authority will always think that criticism of their policies is dangerous. They will always equate their policies with patriotism, and find criticism subversive.” – Henry Steele Commager, American historian, who died 2 March 1998.

I wonder how much, or how little, this statement would offend Newt Gingrich.
